    Financial Accountant

    Position purpose:

    • To provide financial accounting services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate finance support for the payroll department. This includes processing and monitoring payments, journals and reports. Providing these services in an effective and ensure the payroll finances are valid and accurate and that reliance can be placed on the information. Further it will ensure parties are paid timeously and in an appropriate manner.

    Accountabilities

    Position Specific Outputs 

    • Specific deliverables: Position outputs are as follows but not limited to:

    Knowledge management:

    • Prepare and distribute accurate and timeous management accounts or executive summary within the stipulated timeframes as Service Level Agreements
    • Prepare and analyse information for the statutory
    • Reconcile statement of financial position or statement of comprehensive income within stipulated time frames and service Level Agreements
    • Capture and balance all reconciliation accounts accurately and timeously to trial balance
    • Capture all general ledger journal entries accurately and timeously
    • Conduct reconciliation and reasonability tests
    • Ensure effective finance documentation and record keeping
    • Prepare finance documentation for internal and external auditors and assist with requirements
    • Prepare net pay recons and analyse variances (Payroll balancing).
    • Run payroll/HR reportsAIDO,Costing Report, Stats SA, UIF etc.
    • Third Party (Paye, Med Aid, etc.) reconciliations, funding requests, Sanlam submissionS & payments.
    • Loading online payments.
    • Complete the monthly EMP201 forms for submission to SARS.
    • Conduct annual reconciliation to ensure that they balance and submit those SARS.
    • Perform accuracy test on tax and any tax related queries.
    • Build and maintain relationship with SARS, auditor’s & employees.
    • Request statement of Account, investigate interest and penalties, and provide proof of payment to client.
    • Resolve IRP5 queries by processing manual IRP5 to fix historic if required.
    • Submitting of electronic files to SARS. IRP5 & EMP501 SARS reconciliations.
    • Assist with the half year and year end audit as and when assistance from the auditors is required.
    • Adhoc reports for the business.

    Qualification and Experience 

    • 3 -4 years relevant financial accounting experience
    • Financial qualification relevant to department. Studying towards a qualification
