An innovative, forward thinking and respected brand is ready to make a Retail Accountant a part of their diverse team of financial professionals. You will have significant experience with Supergroup, who is their distribution partner. Strong exposure to the retail industry and functioning in a highly pressurised and high-volume environment will be required.

Job Description:

• Capture and Reconcile Cheque, Supergroup, Call and Credit card accounts and Petty Cash
• Capture Micros Sales, Discounts and payouts and reconcile the Cash Control Account
• Invoicing
• Agreeing all Customer invoices issued to POD’s
• Reconcile all Customer accounts and match all receipts correctly according to customer remittance
• Import Supergroup Sales and reconcile Pastel age analysis to Supergroup age analyses
• Resolve all reconciling items on Supergroup reconciliation within the same month
• Calculating and capturing of discounts and commissions per customer agreements and reconcile to customer remittance
• Maintenance of fixed asset register and GL on a monthly basis
• Capturing of all loan account transactions and reconcile to 3rd party confirmations on a monthly basis
• Capturing of all supplier invoices and reconciling of every supplier GL account to 3rd party supplier statements, checking for any incorrect invoicing or duplications
• Preparation of all supplier payment packs and loading of payments on FNB for approval
• Perform VAT 201 Output and Control reconciliation
• Weekly sales reporting to directors
• Performing reasonability checks on monthly inventory valuation and recalculating of inventory sheets and writing the inventory journal

Skills & Experience:

• A minimum of two years commercial experience within retail, advantageous
• Solid experience working with Supergroup as a distribution partner
• Exposure to the B2B ordering and invoicing system of Shoprite and Checkers, Advantageous

Qualification:

• BCom in Accounting
• SAIPA or SAICA Articles
