Financial Accountant at Kantar

ROLE MISSION STATEMENT 

• As a Financial Accountant you will be responsible for providing support to the Financial Accounting Manager in managing the country’s financial accounting function, which will include forecasting, analysis, reporting and general accounting and all statutory and tax functions.

KEY OUTCOMES

• Responsible for performing within a controlled Finance environment as set out by SOX, Region and Global.
• Prepare Monthly Maconomy vs Cartesis reconciliation.
• Participate in the process of annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
• Participate in all financial accounting functions including general ledger, debtors, creditors, cash and fixed assets.
• Ensure accurate and timely compliance with all fiscal and statutory reporting requirements for reporting including application of WPP and Kantar accounting policies.
• Support the implementation of simplification and automation of reporting in conjunction with the region and other country controllers.
• Participate in statutory financial reporting (Income Tax, CBC, VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, TAX CLEARANCE).
• Assist local finance lead in training both finance and non-finance personnel in various aspects of financial awareness.
• Manage and participate in ad hoc financial projects & requests.

CAPABILITIES

• Completed matric & relevant completed diploma/degree.
• 2 years of experience in a Financial Analyst / Financial Reporting role.
• Excellent analytical skills and financial acumen.
• Accountable, delivers on promises and follows through on commitments even in challenging circumstances.
• Track record of working in uncertain and ambiguous situations.
• Track record of working with regulatory bodies and managing statutory and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of local country statutory laws (VAT, PAYE, WHT, SDL, ETC).
• Proven track record.
• Thorough knowledge of the accounting process.
• Ability to perform complex reconciliations.
• Highly numerate.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and knowledge of any ERP system-based accounting program (Maconomy, SAP, Syspro).
• Strong analytic and financial modelling skills and experience.
• Proficiency in Cartesis & MetaPraxis.
