Financial Accountant - OMART at Old Mutual

This role is accountable for execution, governance, and be accountable for achieving results through the efforts of others.

You will have a combination of strong business, financial, strategic, and analytical skills to ensure the provision of business and support services (Finance, Operations, Legal, and Risk management) is of a high standard and enables OMART to meet its objectives.

• Being the Financial Accountant of OMART, this role will provide a strong business partnership to the Senior Financial Accountant for achievement of the overall business objectives as defined in the business plan
• Developing financial processes and performance metrics and interpret cost drivers, KPI’s and benchmarks. Provide commentary on financial results and implications and implements corrective actions to be taken.
• Preparation of OMART audited financials
• Manage the relationship with the external auditors
• Prepare OMARTs tax submissions on the 5 funds tax approach
• Prepare all regulatory submissions
• Maintains a strong financial control environment
• Responsible for audit liaisons as per tax, legislative and statutory requirements.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of the business strategy and business plan from a financial perspective
• Manage the finance team
• Review the OMART HFM submission to Old Mutual Limited
• Management of entities fixed assets & fixed asset register

Job Requirements

• Matric
• Finance degree required
• Newly qualified CA would be considered
• Exposure to five funds tax
• Exposure to the cell captive business (would be an advantage)
• 3yrs experience in a leadership/management role preferred
• Strong knowledge of IFRS17
• Working knowledge of Oracle
• Working knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
• Attention to detail
• MS Office with excellent excel skills
• Stakeholder management & excellent communication skills required
