    2026 Teacher Development Programme – ECD Facilitators

    The minimum requirements for these positions are:

    • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education / Family and Consumer Science / Psychology / Social Work / Sociology or a related field
    • Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the ECD space.
    • Knowledge: Of educational and developmentally appropriate practices.
    • Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, competent interpersonal skills, and strong organisational skills
    • Ability: To integrate Education Technology.

    Preferred additional requirements:

    • Knowledge and expertise in promoting growth and development in children for any of the developmental domains – language and literacy, health and physical development, approaches to learning, social emotional development, creative arts, science, mathematics
    • Experience in conducting assessments
    • Knowledge of programme quality rating scales
    • Experience and/or education in adult learning
    • Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
    • Proven experience in educational leadership or management.

    2026 ECD Foundation Phase Teacher Development Programme

    Deputy Head Operations Department

    We are excited to welcome applications for a role within the Operations Department, available from 1 March 2026.
    Your talent and positive mental attitude mean you are able to deliver on the following responsibilities:

    • Provide professional leadership in support of the Head of Operations
    • Support the Head of Operations in managing departmental duties on a day to day basis
    • Actively address requirements and challenges, monitor progress and provide feedback on Operational interventions
    • Develop project implementation plans and allocate project resources in line with project objectives, deliverables and milestones
    • Oversee, direct and lead the daily operations of the campus with regards to Repairs and Maintenance, Grounds and Gardens Maintenance, Furniture and Events, AV & Sound, Operations Administration, Off Campus Facilities Management (Roodeplaat, Welgevonden and Kamoka)

    The requirements of the position:

    • A Diploma in the Built Environment, Operations Management or Property Development or equivalent,
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position,
    • Project management experience, especially in the built environment,
    • Excellent organisational, administration, and communication skills,
    • Sound knowledge of the OHS Act, Building Regulations and ability to implement Risk Mitigation Controls,
    • Good computer skills (Excel, Word, E-Mail, MS Project),
    • Customer service with proven assertiveness and problem-solving skills,
    • Highly self-motivated, uses initiative, ability to make decisions and has excellent people skills,
    • An active understanding and interest in the educational environment will be an advantage,
    • Able to work flexible hours, sometimes after hours, on weekends or public holidays,
    • Proof of sexual offenders and criminal clearance certificate,

    Head Of Department: History

    The Girls’ College invites applications for the above-mentioned position which will be available from 1 May 2026.

    • Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals who believe they have the required skills, passion and competencies to take on this teaching position.

    Key competencies and responsibilities of this role include:

    • A suitable professional teaching qualification from a recognised institution.
    • A proven teaching record and appropriate experience, including Grade 8-12 History teaching.
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of history and historiography.
    • Previous experience in an IEB school would be an advantage, as would experience in IEB Matric marking
    • Excellent knowledge of CAPS and IEB SAGS.
    • Experience and expertise in guiding and managing a departmental professional development department, budgeting, reporting and offering enrichment opportunities.
    • Establish a teaching and departmental environment that is nurturing and promotes learning and critical thinking.
    • Create classroom and departmental communities where all members are valued and contribute to the creation of knowledge.
    • Knowledge in creating varied and innovative learning programmes and assessments.
    • Understanding of current educational practices and trends in girls’ education.
    • Good planning, organisational and reporting skills with an ability to evaluate, reflect on, and refine teaching practice.
    • Good communication (oral, written and presentation) and technology skills with experience using MS Teams would be advantageous.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with all stakeholders.
    • Interest in cross-curricular and interdisciplinary work.
    • A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extramural activities.
    • Proof of registration with SACE.

    Part Time Flute And Theory Teacher

    • The Girls’ Music Department invites applications for the abovementioned position which will be available from February 2026. This is a peripatetic flute and theory teaching position for students from Grade 3 – Grade 12.

    The requirements for this position are:

    • A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience
    • A degree in the appropriate subject area is a prerequisite
    • The ability to teach music theory lessons from beginner to a Grade 6 level
    • Preparing students for external music examinations
    • A passion and vision for music, especially within the extramural space
    • A high level of organisational, administrative and communication skills
    • An interest and vision for a student-centred holistic education programme
    • Willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College
