Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Senior Manager External Reporting & Financial Accounting, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

• Perform independent tender evaluation with regards to assessing the bidders’ financial stability.
• Prepare and process monthly financial transactions.
• Prepare general ledger reconciliations including resolution of exceptions.
• Provide input into and support for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reports including annual group financial statements.
• Critically monitor and assess budgets relating to fixed assets.
• Prepare and control budget within agreed parameters, highlighting areas of material variances and indicate over expenditure.
• Track and monitor expenditure for fixed assets against capital budget.
• Provide financial transactional support in relation to business partnering.
• Build, support and maintain healthy diverse internal as well as external relationships and implement remedial actions were required to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
• Provide relevant support to resolve financial accounting and reporting queries within the specified time frame.
• Adhere to relevant statutory/legislative regulations, SOP's, operational standards, policies, and practices.
• Perform record keeping / safekeeping of all documents relevant to the function.
• Adhere to internal control systems and the implementation of control measures to mitigate risk.
• Supply information to internal and external auditors in order to meet objectives and ensure audit findings are addressed effectively in area of responsibility.
• Implement company financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare financial operational report.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience will be required

• Bachelor’s Degree (3 years - 360 credits) NQF level 7 in Accounting is essential.
• 4 years operational experience in Financial Accounting (Group) is essential.
• Operational experience in Systems/ ERP is recommended.
• MS Office proficiency on an advanced level
• ERP systems proficiency on an intermediate level
