    Financial Accountant

    • We have a UK client that is looking for an experienced and meticulous Bookkeeper / Financial Accountant to join their finance team in a fully remote-based capacity. This role is ideal for a finance professional with deep-rooted bookkeeping experience, a passion for financial accuracy, and the ability to interpret and analyse data effectively.     Key Responsibilities

    Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

    • Prepare accurate and timely balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Process manual journal entries, including reclassifications to Capex.
    • Compile cost accrual and deferral (prepayment) journals based on POs, invoices, and input from business managers.
    • Produce actual vs. budget reports with clear variance analysis and commentary (focus on staff cost volume/value variances).
    • Review Assets Under Construction and perform related journal entries.
    • Manage fixed asset journals and ensure accuracy in asset-related accounts.
    • Conduct in-depth trial balance reviews.
    • Review and provide input on bank account reconciliations.
    • Maintain and update IFRS accounting schedules, including:
    • IFRS 15 – Revenue Recognition
    • IFRS 16 – Leases
    • IFRS 9 – Financial Instruments
    • IAS 16 – Fixed Assets
    • Lead and facilitate monthly departmental spend vs. budget review meetings.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with strong bookkeeping capabilities.
    • Minimum 10 years' experience in a financial accounting or bookkeeping role.
    • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, formulas); An assessment will be part of the interview process.
    • Experience in financial control environments, including P2P processes.
    • Working knowledge of ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, hands-on approach to tasks.
    • Background in telecommunications, manufacturing, or retail preferred; other detail-intensive industries will also be considered.
