Financial Controller: Capitec at Sanlam Group

What will you do?

• Maintenance of financial controls to ensure the completeness & accuracy of transactions from the Policy Administration system (FAFA).
• Preparation of month end journals.
• Monthly reconciliations between the Policy Administration System (FAFA) and the General Ledger (SAP).
• Preparation of Budget and Forecast of Filesize (policy count), third party benefits.
• Preparation of Capitec scorecard and providing feedback to various stakeholders.
• Preparation of statutory reports – Business Conduct Returns Report.
• Liaising with various stakeholders on an on-going basis and providing them with value adding information.
• Perform trend analysis and provide commentary on the income statement movement to assist with continuous improvement on controls and reporting.
• Make recommendations for fixes required to the system and system data.
• Processing of system fixes within the target dates.
• Liaising with the auditors for internal and external audits.
• Adhoc duties as directed by the manager.

What will make you successful in this role?

Qualification & Experience

• B.Com. Accounting (or similar degree or diploma with financial accounting as a major) is essential.
• Preferable 2 years’ experience in a similar capacity within Finance
• Experience in the financial industry will be advantageous

Knowledge And Skills

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel is essential.
• Proficiency in SAP is preferable.
