    Financial Crime Compliance Manager

    Role Purpose

    • As the Financial Crime Compliance Manager, you will advise and collaborate with business stakeholders to support the development and implementation of financial crime policies, guidance, and safeguards. You will proactively identify financial crime risks, influence the design of effective controls, provide expert compliance advice, and support investigations into suspected financial crime activities. The role also requires engagement with regulatory and law enforcement authorities where necessary.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Crime Advisory & Risk Management

    • Provide expert advice on financial crime risks, regulatory requirements, and compliance obligations.
    • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of financial crime policies, standards, and frameworks.
    • Identify, measure, assess, and monitor financial crime and compliance risks across the business.
    • Assess new products, services, and business practices for exposure to financial crime and regulatory risks.
    • Advise management on existing, emerging, and evolving financial crime threats and recommend preventative safeguards.

    Compliance Frameworks & Controls

    • Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of systems and controls to mitigate financial crime risks.
    • Support the organisation's compliance efforts relating to:
    • Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
    • Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF)
    • Economic Sanctions
    • Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)
    • Fraud Prevention
    • Market Abuse
    • Technology-enabled and digital financial crime threats
    • Ensure compliance controls remain effective and aligned to legislative and regulatory requirements.

    Investigations, Reporting & Governance

    • Investigate and report suspected financial crime incidents.
    • Compile reports and management information that track compliance and risk trends.
    • Provide meaningful insights that support informed decision-making and governance oversight.
    • Monitor compliance performance and recommend corrective actions where required.

    Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

    • Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships across business units and support functions.
    • Encourage a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and inclusivity.
    • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance considerations are embedded in business activities.
    • Promote awareness of financial crime risks and compliance responsibilities across the organisation.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Drive operational excellence through the continuous enhancement of compliance processes and controls.
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and strengthen risk management practices.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development and remain abreast of industry and regulatory developments.

    You will be an ideal candidate if you

    • Hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce or a related field.
    • Relevant Compliance, Risk Management, AML, Governance, or Financial Crime-related certifications will be advantageous.
    • Have 6 – 8 years' experience within a Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, Risk, Audit, Governance, or related environment.
    • Experience in financial crime risk management, policy development, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement.
    • Working knowledge of AML, CTF, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Fraud Risk, and broader financial crime regulations.
