Financial Information Analyst at Santam Insurance

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Support the business and support functions with the three -year budget and monthly forecast process and monitoring of results against the long-term strategy targets and reporting on the outcome
• Preparation and compilation of consolidated high- level plans, budgets, and forecasts and analyses of trends in revenue and expenses
• Update budget and forecasting model in the budget system with monthly information from the accounting systems
• Assist with the preparation of presentations to Exco and the Board
• Reporting to shareholder via HFM Consolidation Tool
• Ad hoc analyses, as needed
• Maintaining the integrity of the data quality in the budget and forecast system
• Training and support of relevant budget holders on the Budget System
• Budget system administration
• Contribute to continuous improvement of budget and forecast process
• Support budget and forecast projects and initiatives, including transition to driver-based continuous forecasting
• Support with implementation of new budget system

 
Other:

• Provide monthly financial reporting and variance analysis for management expenses
• Support ad hoc projects relating to management expenses.
• Review and implement expense allocations. Recommend improvements in allocation methodology and process.
• Ad hoc analyses and ad hoc reporting
• Assist with monthly presentations to Exco
• Design and build financial reports and dashboards that facilitate business decision-making and enable the business to meet economic and strategic objectives
• Use software/ reporting tools optimally to ensure that the business’ information needs are met
• Overall responsible for all system-to-system reconciliations

Qualifications and experience

• Financial Accounting Degree or Diploma.
• 2 - and more years or more experience in budgeting and forecasting
• Experience in dealing with diverse and senior stakeholders
• 2 years of Financial data analysis experience
• Advanced Excel experience
