    Financial Manager

    Excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Manager to join a successful company specializing in supplying combustion equipment and service to industry throughout Southern Africa. This company is part of a notable multi-divisional energy technology provider, ultimately owned by a JSE listed entity.

    As part of the management team, the successful candidate will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders as well as senior executives and board members to make effective organisational decisions regarding improved business performance.

     

    Role Description

    Responsible for all aspects of financial control and reporting, the Finance Manager is the link between the accounting department and top management and is responsible for management accounting, budgeting, operational accounting, financial control, coordinating and overseeing of the financial reporting, as well as being responsible for the finalisation of the monthly financial process. Develop regular financial statements, prepare special projects and perform analysis for senior management.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Financial Manager will be responsible for the following:

    • To take ownership of the Financial Management for the business;
    • Financial planning, forecasting and target setting and on-going advisory role;
    • Budget Management, compiling of budgets, budget control and coordination (Preparation of detailed 5 year headline earnings budgets and cash flow forecasts);
    • Ensure accurate, timely preparation of financial statements, reports and schedules;
    • System Administration - ongoing evaluation and implementation of controls and changes, development input;
    • Monitor and manage all internal systems and controls;
    • Standardise business models to calculate and evaluate IRR of different products and investments;
    • Responsible for the whole Company Secretary Function;
    • Overall responsibility for legal, statutory, regulatory and operational compliance;
    • Reviewing of accountants’ work;
    • Authorising payments and primary responsible for banking profiles and treasury controls;
    • Preparation of reports for the fortnightly Group Exco meetings;
    • Working closely with management of various group companies with regards to reporting requirements and cash flow projections;
    • Liaising with insurance brokers and ensuring adequate insurance cover;
    • Review of agreements; and
    • Dealings with external auditors and facilitating audits for the Company.

    Other responsibilities:

    • Upholding of the Company Confidentiality Agreement;
    • Compliance with all relevant legislations;
    • Effective management and continuity of all related activities;
    • All performance related tasks as required.

    Candidate Profile Description Requirements

    We are looking for a well-rounded individual, for whom values are important. The ideal candidate will be someone who has the following characteristics:

    • A top achiever, well-balanced individual with a demonstrated track record/aptitude for both an internal and external facing role
    • Relevant tertiary education and CA (SA) qualification
    • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task
    • Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Pastel, JobSYS)
    • 2-3+ years progressive financial and accounting experience (post article experience in Financial Management) preferably in a manufacturing, engineering environment
    • Professional communication skills
    • Comfortable interacting with external clients and suppliers at senior level
    • Dual track record/capability to both build and maintain a foundation for Financial Management while aptitude to grow our commercial focus.
    • Well-balanced individual
    • Willing to take initiative to deliver results
    • Good understanding and knowledge of accounting principles
    • Extensive knowledge of financial management principles and procedures
    • Working knowledge of financial and operational systems

    General Working conditions

    • Work hours are between 08h00 and 17h00
    • This role will require travelling from time to time.

    Salary

    • R700k – R800k pa, depending on experience.
    • Performance based Bonus, dependent on company and individual performance.
