    Financial Manager (Live Kindly Collective)

    Job Description

    • The RCL FOODS Talent Team currently looking for a Financial Manager to support our Livekindly Collective Africa Joint Venture. The role will be based in Westville and report to the Head of Finance and Commercial. The successful candidate will assume full responsibility for the financial operations, reporting, and compliance of the LKCA JV.
    • The Financial Manager will set the rhythm of the business by setting, coordinating, and leading the business planning process timeline across multiple stakeholders. Further to this, they will make operational decisions relating to the SAP environment in investigating and resolving issues.

    Minimum Requirements    

    • CA (SA)
    • At least 2-3 years’ experience post articles experience.
    • Prior experience in preparation of financial accounts and month-end closing, statutory and tax reporting, and compliance essential.
    • Prior FP&A experience highly desirable

    Knowledge

    • Financial accounting principles and practices
    • Commercial and contract law
    • Good understanding of Tax and VAT Acts
    • Budgeting and forecasting methods
    • Broad knowledge of financial operations and systems, esp within RCL
    • An understanding of multiple key performance indicators, inter-relationship, and bottom line sensitivity

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Financial Accounting:
    • IFRS compliance
    • Ensuring that the General Ledger is maintained according to IFRS and US GAAP standards for both local (JV) and global (LK Global) reporting.
    • Ensuring that monthly general ledger reconciliations are completed and reconciling items resolved.
    • Monthly close-off of accounts fairly reflecting the monthly results of the business.
    • Month-end closing and reporting of full TB, BS/IS/CFS.

    Statutory Compliance:

    • Managing statutory financial close-off for the LKCA JV.
    • Completion of the required interim and year-end schedules.
    • Liaison with internal and external auditors.
    • Annual financial statements preparation.
    • Ensuring compliance with VAT legislation, i.e. validity of VAT claimed and that tax invoices conform to requirements. Ensuring monthly completion of VAT schedules for consolidation.
    • Income Tax compliance - Accurate and timeous submission of all income tax returns. Management and assessment of tax treatment and tax risk, in conjunction with RCL Group Tax.
    • Providing input regarding compliance with company law and in conjunction with RCL Group Finance & Legal, department ensuring compliance with commercial law and legislation generally.

    Management Reporting:

    • Preparation, review, and analysis of monthly reports for LKCA Executive Team and global monthly performance reviews ensuring completeness and accuracy with insightful analysis and commentary.
    • Providing ad hoc information and reports to decision-makers on an ongoing basis.
    • Preparation, review, and analysis of all other performance packs including QBR, RCL Board, JV Board, and other events e.g. global visitors, MD business letters, etc.
    • Coordination and consolidation of business performance pack working together with all other functions, setting clear timelines, developing templates, ensuring consistency, and delivering to pre-read deadlines.
    • Drive a culture of data-led growth through exceptional analysis and insight

    Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Coordination of the JV’s budget process and delivery within deadlines.
    • Build the company annual budget and monthly/quarterly forecasts
    • Monitor performance vs budget and forecast including variance analysis
    • Supporting the LKCA Executive Team build their departmental budgets
    • Coordination of inputs from global team, sourcing units, RCL Group Finance, RCL Commercial, Vector, and others to build budgets and forecasts, including understanding assumptions and cost drivers, cost movements analysis, and impact on the JV P&L.
    • Working with RCL Commercial and JV business functions to identify, agree and track savings opportunities.

    Capex

    • Coordinate and build the company CAPEX budget and plan.
    • Work with RCL Group Finance to ensure CAPEX costs are understood and accounted for and report to the business on CAPEX spend.

    Treasury

    • Work closely with Planning and Treasury to ensure forex requirements are met.
    • Manage the cash flow forecast to ensure funds are available for operations

    Internal Controls

    • Ensure process and controls compliance through regular control checks.
    • Follow up on audit queries and ensuring that corrective action is taken by responsible teams.

    Insurance

    • Ensure that adequate insurance cover is in place and that insurance declarations are completed on time in full.

    Contracts

    • Review of new contracts to ensure that they are commercially sound, aligned with company strategy, and IFRS and US GAAP implications are considered

    Contribute to Business Strategy into Action

    • Review business and functional strategic priorities for alignment and assess the implications on company finances
    • Work with functional leaders to develop and track strategic KPIs

    Leading and Managing

    • Manage direct report(s) to ensure all tasks are accurately and efficiently completed
    • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide development plan support.
    • Deliver objectives and outcomes through extensive collaboration with finance and commercial teams at RCL and LK Global
    • Influence, advise and support cross-functional teams and the rest of finance/commercial to achieve positive business outcomes
    • Maintain regular effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure deliverables are achieved with high quality
