Financial Manager at Sakata Seed Southern Africa

Job Summary:

• The Company seeks to appoint a well-presented, professional team player to manage the Financial operations of the business. Reporting to the Financial Director, the incumbent will manage the Accounts Department (a team of 5 individuals).

Key Performance Areas

• Compiling and distributing monthly management accounts for the local Board as well as international shareholders
• Preparing financial packs according to IFRS requirements and managing the financial audit processes
• Completion of tax- and statutory returns
• Conducting Internal Audits and ensuring compliance with J-Sox.
• Managing the cash flow of the business, customer limits, opening and verification of trade accounts
• Managing the preparation of the budget and forecasts, updating in the required formats
• Investigating variances against budget, forecast and costing and liaising with management in this regard.
• Managing CAPEX applications and commissioning, as well as Asset registers
• Liaising with customers and distributors, as required.
• Compiling and managing adherence to Financial Policies and Procedures

Specific Requirements

• Qualified CA with at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial environment during which experience in preparing management accounts, compiling financial reports, dealing with tax and statutory returns
• At least 2 years’ experience managing a financial department
• Internal audit experience, preferably familiar with J-Sox requirements
• Strong working knowledge and experience in costing (preferably gained in a manufacturing environment).
• Experience working according to IFRS
• High level of proficiency in the use of Excel spreadsheets and graphs
• Business-oriented, with excellent English communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines for group financial reporting
• Able to travel nationally and internationally, when required.
• Must be a SA citizen
