FinMoRe Actuary at Munich Re

Your Job:

Are you passionate about developing innovative solutions that increase financial growth for our clients? As the Financially Motivated Reinsurance Solutions Actuary for Munich Re of Africa (MRoA) – Life, you will play a key role in helping our clients achieve their business goals. You will research and understand the capital management and profitability stresses of our clients and design and implement Fin Mo Re solutions that meet their unique needs. Reporting in to the Head of FinMoRe, you will:

• Identify and design custom Fin Mo Re solutions with support from management.
• Market and present Fin Mo Re solutions to our valued clients.
• Implement the Fin Mo Re solutions with a focus on risk management, profitability, and credit measures of the Munich Re Group.
• Develop financial models and assess the profitability of Fin Mo Re transactions while analyzing the risk and variability of profitability.
• Provide internal risk assessment, credit analysis, and Fin Mo Re transaction reports.
• Ensure that data requirements and technical input needed to price Fin Mo Re transactions are in place.
• Maintain the highest standard of technical competence & ensure group guidelines are followed.
• Support the Life Business strategy & risk management function.

Your profile:

We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven person with a strong background in Life/Reinsurance/Corporate Actuarial insurance or Actuarial Consulting. Experience in Capital Management and/or Investment Market Analysis will be beneficial.

• Preferably a Qualified Actuary (Fellow) or close to qualifying as an Actuary and a University degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics or Mathematics.
• 7+ years of relevant experience and sound technical understanding of life insurance dynamics – products, regulatory factors, market environment.
• Analytical and statistical skills.
• Multi-task and manage multiple deliverables.
• Proficiency in actuarial modelling packages/VBA/Excel (can perform complex functions).
