Fitter - JHB at Weir Minerals

Key Responsibilities:

• Assemble Horizontal units and Vertical bearing unit for pumps
• Do fault finding on  bearings assemblies and give daily feedback on performance
• Ensure quality and work standard of workmanship is maintained.
• Complete bearing assembly and pump units, inspect units to comply with the quality standards and sign off on required documents
• Monitor the technical bearing and assembly and finishing of pumps units
• Responsible for safety when working with equipment
• Meet daily targets
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvements initiatives that seeks to address all quality related queries and concerns
• Required to work overtime when necessary
• Adherence of all HSE and housekeeping requirements.( 6S)
• Adhere to Duty of Care Policy at all times

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• Trade test certificate with a minimum of 3 years' experience in pumps to overhaul and maintain.
• College or technical school qualification and able to read and interpret drawings; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
