Fixed Assets Officer at Mediclinic

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

• To ensure complete administration of asset accounting process and capital purchase order approval; providing support to the department and optimal value for the product end-users.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

• Approve and co-ordinate administration functions for purchase orders
• Perform administration functions on Fixed Asset System
• Create and maintain budgets and co-ordinate relating processes
• Co-ordinate financial controls and processes

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: 

• Senior Certificate with Accounting as a subject or relevant tertiary qualification

DESIRED EDUCATION: 

• Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or relevant Financial Certificate/Diploma

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 

• At least 3 - 5 years relevant working experience in a Financial environment

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:  

• 3-5 years experience in a Financial environment; Relevant Fixed Asset accounting experience ;SAP System experience

• SARS legislation
• Finance/accounting terminology
• Reconciliation skills
• Impact of depreciation and profit & loss
• Different budget types; implications and applicable procedures
• Integrated asset management system
• Knowledge and experience of accounting transactions
• Asset Accounting and Capitalisation policy and legislation
• Overall asset verification process
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
