Nurture Health is seeking a passionate and patient-centred Medical Doctor to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team for the fixed-term period of 14 December 2026 – 10 May 2027. Reporting to the Therapy Manager, you will play a critical role in optimising patients’ clinical status and enabling their active participation in rehabilitation programmes. You will work collaboratively with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality rehabilitation care and achieve meaningful patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose, and manage patients’ rehabilitation medicine needs, including medically complex cases, while optimising their participation in rehabilitation programmes.
Plan, implement, and monitor rehabilitation medicine interventions, prevent and manage secondary complications, and ensure compliance with clinical governance standards and organisational policies.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to establish patient-centred goals, contribute to clinical decision-making, and educate patients and families on rehabilitation prognosis, progress, and expected outcomes.
Requirements
Registered with the HPCSA Medical and Dental Professions Board in the category Independent Practice (General Practitioner), with proven experience working within an interdisciplinary healthcare environment.
Strong clinical reasoning, holistic patient assessment, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence multidisciplinary decision-making and deliver patient-centred care.
Passionate about rehabilitation, committed to continuous learning and professional development, and demonstrates accountability, empathy, adaptability, and professionalism.
