    Service Development Specialist - Remote

    ABOUT THE ROLE

    • The Service Development Specialist is responsible for identifying, designing and implementing new service and business development opportunities across Nurture Health's national rehabilitation hospital network.
    • This is far more than a traditional business development role. You'll develop a deep understanding of how our organisation operates, analyse clinical and operational performance, identify opportunities for innovation, and work alongside multidisciplinary specialists to design services that improve patient outcomes, operational efficiency and sustainable growth.
    • You'll combine data, insight and creativity to help shape the future of rehabilitation healthcare.

    You will:

    • Identify, evaluate and implement new service, revenue and business development opportunities by analysing organisational operations, patient needs, market trends and performance data.
    • Design and improve business processes, policies and systems that support innovative, evidence-based, compliant and sustainable healthcare services across the organisation.
    • Collaborate with clinical, operational and specialist teams, providing expert guidance and influencing stakeholders to successfully translate ideas into measurable organisational outcomes.

    ABOUT YOU

    Minimum Requirements

    • NQF Level 7 qualification in Business, Health Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or a related discipline.
    • Proven experience in successfully leading or contributing to new business development, new ventures, or strategic revenue growth projects within a healthcare or multi-site service organisation.
    • Business Advisor (BA)–level business advisory knowledge as set out in the Institute of Business Advisors Southern Africa (IBASA) professional designations and grading framework, including its application within the South African healthcare context.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Execute and coordinate nursing care plans, allocate and delegate nursing activities, and monitor patients’ clinical status to ensure safe, effective care.

    Job Description

    • Nurture Health is seeking a passionate and patient-centred Occupational Therapist to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. Reporting to the Therapy Manager, you will help patients relearn or adapt everyday activities to improve independence, participation, and quality of life. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services and meaningful patient outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assess patients’ functional participation and develop, implement, and monitor individualised occupational therapy treatment plans to improve independence and rehabilitation outcomes.
    • Deliver interventions including ADL retraining, neurorehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, upper limb rehabilitation, splinting, wheelchair seating, vocational rehabilitation, and the prescription of assistive devices and equipment.
