Job Description

• the ideal candidate should have a strong background in high-speed multicolour flexographic printing machines preferably from the printing and packaging industry.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a machine operator
• Proven experience as a flexographic printer or similar role in a printing and packaging environment.
• Strong understanding of flexographic printing processes and multicolour flexographic printing machines.
• Strong understanding of flexographic inks, stereo tapes and pantone colours.
• Ability to read and interpret job cards and printing specifications.
• Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player in fast pace environment.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy printing equipment and operate printing equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to meet production deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate multicolour flexographic printing machines including mounting and setting of stereos to produce high-quality printed materials.
• Monitor print quality throughout production run and perform adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate with production team to ensure timely completion of print orders.
• Perform housekeeping tasks, maintain and clean printing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that may arise during printing process.
• Follow all company safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform routine maintenance including preventative maintenance on printing machines to ensure longevity and proper functioning.
