Overseeing the staff and implementation of the Fountain House Observatory programme and reporting to the PSR Manager
Coordination of the facility requirements in terms of Health and Safety, risk, financial aspects and maintenance
Co-ordination of our Employment unit and unit activities (e.g. Transitional and Supported employment placements). Primary responsibility for overall management and development of the employment unit & communications unit and manage the Fountain House Employment Programme, including Transitional Employment (TE) Programme; Supported (SE), independent employment and Learnership support and Business Development/ Canvassing for prospective work placements. Work readiness preparation, job coaching and placement support.
Working with the other unit co-ordinators and work areas (Catering, Admin and Workshop Units) to ensure that the training opportunities offered through simulated and actual work activities at FH are used optimally towards work readiness of the members
Development of new open labour market work opportunities for members
Sensitisation and empowerment of employers to successfully employ persons with psychosocial disabilities
Primary responsibility for management and coordination of any SETA programmes, Learnerships and Internships in FH (depending on MOUs) & liaison with relevant partners.
Co-ordination and support of our student and volunteer placements
Management and Support of our self-advocacy initiatives
Providing Psychosocial rehabilitation to members and facilitate and present monthly life skills programme (as per the programme roster)
To develop and implement a peer support model including criteria, identification, training and support of the peer supporters
Requirements:
An appropriate degree in Social/Health Sciences i.e. Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Psychology, etc.
A valid manual code 8 driver’s licence
Fluent in English and Afrikaans/ Xhosa
Minimum 3 years work experience in a related field
Experience in work rehabilitation, supported employment and psychosocial rehabilitation would be an advantage/beneficial
Excellent group facilitation skills
Basic computer literacy and administration skills
Excellent organisational management and planning skills
Ability to lead, motivate staff and work as part of a team
