Job Objectives and Functions

Financial Forecasting and Planning

• Developing and maintaining robust financial models to forecast future financial performance.
• Analyzing historical and current financial data to inform and validate forecasting assumptions.

Budgeting

• Collaborating with departments to gather budget inputs and consolidate them into a comprehensive budget.
• Monitoring budget performance, conducting variance analysis, and identifying trends or areas needing attention.

Financial Analysis

• Conducting thorough analysis of financial statements and key performance metrics to explain financial trends and performance drivers.
• Providing actionable insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.

Management Reporting

• Preparing and delivering clear, concise financial reports and analysis to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Creating visual representations such as dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Strategic Planning

• Supporting the development of long-term strategic plans by offering financial insights and scenario analysis.
• Evaluating investment opportunities and business proposals to assess financial viability and potential impact.

Business Partnering

• Collaborating closely with business units to understand financial needs and provide timely support and advice.
• Acting as a financial consultant to assist stakeholders in making informed business decisions.

Performance Management

• Monitoring and analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics to evaluate business performance.
• Identifying opportunities for performance improvement and operational efficiency gains.

Forecasting and Risk Assessment

• Identifying potential risks and opportunities affecting financial performance.
• Conducting scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to evaluate the impact of strategic decisions or external factors.

Continuous Improvement

• Participating in initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis processes.
• Implementing best practices and keeping abreast of industry trends and changes in accounting standards.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Working closely with departments like Accounting, Sales, and Operations to gather data, understand business dynamics, and align financial plans with overall company objectives.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

• NQF7 Degree in Finance/Accounting/ Economics
• NQF8 Hons. degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics and/ CIMA
• 3-5 years experience FP&A Analyst/Financial Analyst
