Freight Forwarder, Air & Sea at DSV

Main Purpose of The Role:

• Main role: export and import cargo to and from all the required SADC destinations within the metrics set for each destination.
• RIT shipments from port or airport to the SADC countries.
• Manage BV inspections.
• Manage and control all areas of the shipments.
• Customs Clearance processes.
• Forwarding process.

Minimum Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Freight Forwarding.
• Understanding of incoterms - risk and billing purposes.
• Airfreight and Ocean freight Experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Good e-mail etiquette.
• Road Exports and Imports.
• Performance driven and results orientated
• Knowledge of SADC region essential. Ability to work under pressure.
• Punctuality and time management skills area essential for this position.
• Internal and intercompany procedures and requirements.
• Forwarding and clearing process.
• Day to Day controls required for service delivery.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to work in a team environment, so also unsupervised.
• Ability to work across time zones and manage overseas partners.

• Matric (essential).

• Office 365 (Teams, OneNote, Forms), MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Cargo Wise (will be an advantage).

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Forwarding of cargo.
• Register shipments on Cargowise.
• Costing / Invoicing of files.
• Actioning reports.
• Actioning Queries.
• Tracking.
• Updating Milestones.
• Liaising transporters/border agents/destination offices.
• Co-ordination of movement of cargo into cross border countries.
• Ability to work overtime when required.
• Own reliable transport to and from work.
• Perform function with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a team environment.
• Must be able to organize work in urgency order.
• Deadline is crucial and must be met.
• Must be results driven and provide feedback timeously on reports.
• Applying for load authority from destination.
• Booking vehicles.
• Submitting files to customs.
• Managing the road manifest.
• Sending pre alerts.
