General Accountant at Anglo American

Job Description:

• We are actively recruiting for 9 Accountants across three disciplines, namely Statutory Reporting, Reconciliations as well as General Accounting. With each area, we require solid experience in Financial Reporting and Management Accounting within a Multinational and/or Shared Services environment – Big 5 Audit firm experience is an advantage. CA(SA) or B Comm Hons/CTA will put you ahead of the pack

Your key responsibilities will include:  

• Financial Reporting
• Management Accounting and Support
• Process Optimisation
• Process Governance
• This role is at a Band 7 level

Qualifications:
Qualifications: 

• BCOM Accounting /BCOMPT Degree or a relevant tertiary qualification or comprehensive experience in a financial discipline at a recognised institution

Experience:

• Accounting experience in the mining industry/corporate multinational environment
• 1 Year People management experience
• 3 - 6 Years Financial Reporting/Management Accounting experience
• Demonstrated functional accounting experience in a similar environment
• Experience of year-end and other statutory reporting
• Experience with analysis and benchmarking of financial/business data
• Experience of performing key controls and working with adherence to financial
• Eligible to become a member of a recognised accounting body (recommended)
