    Accounts Payable Analyst

    Job Description:

    • In this role you will be responsible for complex accounting activities relating to the maintenance of a complete and accurate general ledger and ensure accurate reports on financial results on a monthly basis to management to enable evaluation of the department or division's actual performance against target.

    Below are some key responsibilities: 

    • Managing the Accounts Payable activities of specific teams under the service custody and act as a single point of contact to understand and meet customer needs.

    Environmental Superintendent

    Job Description:
    We are currently seeking to employ an Environmental Superintendent to join our Coal South Africa family at Goedehoop Colliery

    This is a key role within the Safety and Sustainable Development Department where you will be responsible for: 

    • Perform due diligence audits so that operations are environmental legally compliance and changes to law are implemented during operational, decommissioning and closure phases as well as implement the ISO 14001:EMS standards and the Anglo Coal South Africa Environmental Policy and Procedures
    • Provide support in the development of the Anglo Coal South Africa Environmental Management Plan through the environmental team ensure the environmental data collection and collation from Operation as well as co-ordinate environmental management processes at all the operating site

    Qualifications:

    Underground Mining Technology Implementation Specialist

    Job Description:

    • With exposure to a wide range of problems and a real opportunity to help us shape the function, you will provide local support for implementation of the operational technology projects across the portfolio with an early focus on Underground Projects.

    You will also;

    • Your responsibility will be to support the Financial Reporting Coordinator in delivering timely, accurate and complete financial information to stakeholders. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting a robust control environment.

    Internal Control Analyst

    Job Description:

    Upon fulfilling the requirements for the Internal Controls Analyst, you will work closely with the GSS Service Line management together with the Incident Compliance Officer to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls for the EMEA Global Shared Services business unit.

    • Perform ad-hoc and planned control reviews to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment and ensure outcomes of proactive health check reports are actioned and implemented.
    • Ensure that remediation needs and plans are identified, agreed with process/control owners, and those control deficiencies are tracked and considered in the Risk Register. Ensure GSS complies with all controls related to Group/External Compliance requirements.
    • Confirm that financial reporting-related Risk and Control Matrices (RACM’s) and relevant process flow documentation are maintained to reflect any changes in business operations and its risk exposure. Ensure that Process documentation that support the execution of compliance requirements are relevant and consistent.
    • Controls framework design: provide considerations of any changes to business processes/controls and impact on compliance scope and attestation.
    • Facilitate the management attestation process and ensure that key GSS controls (that impacts Anglo American’s financial processes) are attested to accordingly by the relevant control owners to comply with legislative control requirements.
    • This role is in the Global Shared Services Business Support Services department at a Band 7 level reporting to the GSS Internal Controls Lead.

    Qualifications:

    Mine Overseer

    Job Description:
    The Mine Overseer is an appointed in terms of Section 7(4) of the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulation 2.9.2. 

    You will ensure overall Shaft / Section Operational effectiveness which means the continuous achievement of production targets in the area of responsibility, executing mine plans and ensuring plans are practical and executable.

    The focus areas for this role will be to manage and co-ordinate the following:

    • Ensure that safety, health and environmental targets are achieved, apply the Safety Management System and ensure that it reflects alignment with the Anglo Coal South Africa Safety, Health and Environmental Way, integrate the risk management application and chair incident investigations. 
    • Ensure that agreed upon operational planning and production targets are achieved, by providing input into the effective planning of the rehabilitation of the mined areas. 
    • Ensure effective cost control, allocate costs effectively to the various sections and stay within budget. 
    • Maintain section infrastructure to compliment the Operational value chain from coal face to plant, ensure haul roads / belt roads are maintained efficiently and according to standards and keep the infrastructure up to date with best practice. 
    • Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability. 

    This role is in the Mining department at a Band 6 level reporting to the Section Manager. 

    Qualifications:
    You will be required to have: 

    • Grade 12
    • Mine Overseer Certificate of Competency for UG Coal Mining is a requirement. 
    • Blasting / Rock breaking certificate (NQF Level 3) is required. 
    • Diploma / Degree in Mining Engineering (BSc.) (NQF Level 7) will be advantageous. 
    • Intermediate Management Development Programme or equivalent will be advantageous. 
    • Anglo American Plc Safety Course (A3) and Safety Leadership Program will be advantageous. 
    • Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa. 

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • At least 5 years mining experience in Underground Coal mining operation.

    Strategy and Transformation Specialist

    Job Description:
    Your responsibility will be to actively work with the Head of Global Shared Services and the Global Shared Services Transformation Lead to develop the detailed strategic plans for Global Shared Services in the near, medium and longer terms according to the operating model.

    Your key responsibilities will include: 

    • Translates strategic plans into transformation requirements and a project roadmap to deliver the required transformation.
    • Develops and tracks the delivery of qualitative and quantitative benefits cases and outcomes for transformational initiatives.
