RPO Recruitment’s client, a well-established property development and construction company in Cape Town is seeking to appoint an experienced General Foreman with strong residential construction experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Overseeing and coordinating daily site activities on residential construction projects
Managing subcontractors, labour, materials, and plant on site
Monitoring construction progress and ensuring projects remain on programme
Maintaining quality standards and ensuring work is completed according to specifications
Enforcing health & safety compliance and site housekeeping standards
Assisting with site planning, scheduling, and productivity management
Conducting site inspections and resolving on-site challenges efficiently
Liaising with Site Managers, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the required standard
Requirements:
Minimum 10 years’ experience in the residential construction industry
Proven experience working as a General Foreman on residential developments
Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, finishes, and site coordination
Ability to manage subcontractors, labour teams, and daily site operations effectively
Sound understanding of health & safety regulations and quality control procedures
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Good leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Must currently be based in Cape Town or surrounding areas
