• This International Round focuses on, but is not limited to, students, recent postgraduates, and early-career professionals studying at leading universities in the United Kingdom, Kenya, and across the African continent.
• We believe that early-career professionals benefit from spending time in person with their colleagues. As such most Young Professionals are based at our hubs in South Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town) or Kenya (Nairobi). Exceptions may be made for outstanding candidates in other locations on a case-by-case basis. Candidates must possess the legal right to work in the location for which they apply.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

• Academics: Postgraduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, PPE, Public Policy, International Development, Development Studies, Business Science/Accounting, Health Economics, or related quantitative/social science disciplines is strongly preferred.
• Analytical & Quantitative Skills: Strong ability to handle, clean, and interpret quantitative or qualitative data. Foundational comfort with analytical software (e.g., Stata, R, Python, Excel) is advantageous.
• Digital & AI Fluency: Comfort and active curiosity in utilising modern AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude) to streamline research and workflows effectively.
• Communication: Strong English communication, storytelling, and writing skills. Business proficiency in French or Portuguese is highly desirable for regional project expansion.
