Graduate Trainee - Security Analysis at World Food Programme

Overview

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:  

• An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any of the following disciplines: International Relations, Geopolitics, Security Studies, Security Analysis or related fields.
• Qualification's must have been obtained within the previous year (2022) or current year (2023) with an academic average of at least 75%.

Language:  

• Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station (English).  Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese will be an added advantage.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

• Security Information Management, Analysis and Reporting - information management in security, through analysis and reporting. This includes, but will not be limited to, monitoring of sources, discussions with counterparts in the region and in the world, research. The trainee will have to approach these concepts using what they have learned during their courses and adapting it to fit within requirements of the UNSMS and WFP.  
• Security Risk Management – Develop understanding of strategic approaches to security to identify potential threats. Contributes to the creation and implementation of WFPs mitigation measures.
• Field Operations Support - Works with Security Operations team to proactively contribute to solutions to single or multiple elements of organisational security challenges.
• Perform other related duties as required.
