Develop and implement a People Strategy that is aligned to the company’s overall strategic objectives
Develop people strategies, streamline, and design the appropriate approach, for diagnosing and enhancing organisational effectiveness and employee satisfaction
Support current and future business needs though the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital
Ensure that Group HR policies and procedures are regularly developed, maintained, managed, legally compliant and implemented correctly
Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures
Develop, implement, and maintain a People Plan for all business units
Manage the organisation design process and ensure that structures enable the achievement of business objectives
Facilitate change and transformation initiatives
Support, drive and embed the desired culture and values in all business units
Partner with line to embed company culture and values in all processes and practices
Collaborate with the HR team and line managers to champion and accelerate a culture of excellence in which people feel engaged and inspired to perform and deliver to business results
Develop and facilitate a learning environment
Develop, manage, and provide guidance on the implementation and application of a performance management system
Ensure that processes and practices are in place to measure and manage performance of individuals and teams
Effectively manage employee relations processes and procedures
Develop, communicate, implement, and review career paths, succession plans, talent management policies and procedures
Ensure all positions have accurate role profiles and are graded
Partner with relevant HR departments and line managers to provide a competency framework
Partner with Learning and Development department and line managers to ensure an appropriate and value add Workplace Skills Plan and provide feedback on Return on Investment (ROI)
Partner with Recruitment Department to provide an end-to-end recruitment service that supports delivery of the business growth plans
Ensure that an effective and relevant onboarding process is in place for all employees across all areas of the business
Oversee the effective processing of all payrolls and related administrative functions
Conduct annual salary benchmarking and reviews, and provide input to increases, package alignment and bonus structures
Provide input to compensation and benefit packages, needs, and trends, provide recommends and process required documentation
Ensure legal compliance with relevant employment, employment equity and skills development legislation
Identify people initiatives e.g. People Survey, wellness, and health
Develop, monitor, analyse and provide HR metrics including but not limited to recruitment, labour turnover, ER cases, leave, absenteeism, salary bands, performance ratings, employment equity and skills development
Ensure human resource records are maintain though an effective filing and retrieval system for current and historical records
Analyse and interpret reports, including but not limited to remuneration, benefits, organisation structure, job levels, leave management, attrition, and provide recommendations that guide decision making and proactive solutions
Ensure that all employee queries, requests, and grievances are addressed in a timely and courteous manner
Provide functional expertise in areas of employee relations, development, performance management, feedback, coaching, remuneration and benefits, and recruitment
Provide timely information and or upskilling for all levels of the business on HR, and related people policies, processes, and procedures
Partner effectively with third party service providers to deliver to business requirements
Effectively lead and manage a cross functional Human Resource team
Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification required
A three-year tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or related qualification required
Driver’s License: code 8 is an advantage
Minimum ten years’ experience of which five years must be in a management role
Proven track record of delivery at strategic, tactical, and operational level
Experience working as a member of a senior leadership team
Demonstrated experience in various HR functional areas including recruitment at all levels, employee relations, performance management, organisation development, change management, remuneration and benefits
Demonstrated experience working with HR metrics
Knowledge of relevant labour law and HR practices
Proven experience working with multiple ER Cases
Hands on experience with Human Resource Management software including payroll systems
Experience in Retail or FMGC environment added an advantage
