  • Group Manager Category Management.COE COE.Supply Chain (Business Services)(F51001)

    The successful candidate will be reporting to Chief Procurement Officer, and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

    • Drive a focus on category management planning through influencing and facilitating the development of future strategic directions of the category management department.
    • Monitor macro and micro-economics conditions, legislation, competition, market sentiment and the industry to regularly assess the impact and relevance of Category Management Strategy on ACSA.
    • Develop and lead an effective demand planning capability which supports forecasting, budgeting and integrated business planning.
    • Drive an effective demand planning and demand management capability which will contribute to the identification and realisation of cost reduction and cost saving opportunities.
    • Drive the identification and realisation of cost reduction and cost saving opportunities through effective category management.
    • Ensure that supplier agreements are negotiated in line with category specific requirements and managed according to SCM Policies.
    • Accountable for departmental performance, within the agreed strategic framework and approved plans.
    • Manage ACSA’s risk exposure through identification, implementation and maintenance of risk control measures to minimise the Company’s liability.
    • Ensure the collaboration between Category Managers and Supply Chain Business Partners on site and commodity specific demand planning and category management.
    • Oversee the Management of IT and master data related projects for category management.
    • Develop operational, Capex and labour budgets for the department emanating from business plans.
    • Champion knowledge and learning development within teams.

    Technical Skills and Experience

    The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required: 

    • Bachelor Honours Degree (NQF 8) in Supply Chain Management / Commerce / Accounting / Administration or Law is essential
    • Master’s degree (NQF 9) in MCOM, MBA / MBL / LLM or Commercial Law is advantageous.
    • Accreditations with Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply (MCIPS) or SAPICS is recommended.
    • 8 years’ operational experience in strategic sourcing is essential
    • 4 years Management experience in middle management is essential
    •  Valid Code B drivers’ licence
