Group Operational Risk and Safety Systems Manager at Implats

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-year degree/ Diploma or equivalent (Risk management & system certification).
• Qualified/registered lead auditor accredited certificate.
• Minimum of 10 years working experience within Operational Risk, system implementation, certification and Management.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, mine standards and procedures. (Auditors/ISO 45001/ISO 14001, ISO 9001etc.).
• Exceptional knowledge of Risk Assessment Methodologies.
• Working knowledge of information systems and processes.
• System development and basic report writing skills.
• Must be familiar with mining industry and behaviour Based Safety Processes.
• Knowledge and practical experience in SHREQ system implementation and auditing.
• Analytical with attention to detail.
• Understand Concept and Dynamics of Effective Training and knowledge of ICAM and auditing systems.
• Should have broad understanding of business processes and practices.
• Have an ability to integrate different IT systems.
• The ability to design, develop, implement, reports and dashboards from system.
• Able to analyse and predict outcomes.
• Have good facilitation and influencing skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design systems and processes and lead conversations to stimulate awareness in support of the reduction / elimination of operational safety risks and group threats.
• Drive and promote the achievement of safety standards and fatal risk protocols across the Implats Group.
• Inspire operational staff to become Risk Assessment / Fatal Risk Protocol champions.
• Influence and promote the participation in operational Risk Assessment / Fatal Risk control Protocol/ material unwanted events and critical control audits within Implats.
• Project manage the roll-out of approved technologies and / or initiatives within the operations.
• Monitor the application of risk mitigation practices and interventions and guide and coach stakeholders on best practices.
• Project manage the benchmarking and re-design/ enhancement of systems and processes to enhance risk performance and outputs as well as direct the Safety Strategy towards enhanced and sustainable objectives.
• Design systems and processes and lead conversations to establish awareness to regulatory and ISO system requirements and standards.
• Identify integration opportunities with existing practices, infrastructure, technologies and / or initiatives.
• Set up standard ISO45001 framework for implementation at non-certified business areas and to do internal certification reviews.
