Head, Affordable Housing and Partners at Standard Bank Group

Job Purpose

• To interface with the industry, government and various stakeholders within the land and property industry and be the Standard Bank working representative on these forums.
• To manage the affordable housing interface into the group and reporting structures.
• To manage partners (attorneys and 3rd party providers excluding MO’s) with a focus on digitisation based on customer requirements as informed by customer data to ensure agility and ‘one-and-done’ principle.
• To be responsible to reduce the economic cost of delivering a home service through partners. This includes understanding partner economics; overall partner strategy implementation and business strategy
• Support the home services tribe where partners are involved or required.
• Manage a team of operational partner managers (currently attorneys).

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Interface with the industry, government and various stakeholders within the land and property industry and be the Standard Bank working representative on these forums:

• Attend the necessary forums and provide the Standard Bank view.
• Raise necessary issues with executive management.
• Spot, develop and nurture relationships to build value for all.
• Determine ways to increase property rights in South Africa with various stakeholders.

Responsible for reducing the economic cost of delivering home services to customers through partners:

• Understand partner business models and economic rents earned.
• Models and understands how create new business models in the industry.
• Develop strategies to reduce economic rents and distribute back to customers.
• Ensure value shared is appropriate between customers and partners.
• Work with industry partners to grow the home industry.

Affordable housing:

• Ensure reporting and strategy for affordable housing is consistent and correct.
• Be the spokesman internally for affordable housing.

Manage existing partners (attorneys)

• Manage a team to ensure SLA’s are met and the strategic intent in (2) is realized.
• Ensure all operational risk requirements and daily management of partners takes place.

People and leadership:

• Adoption and promotion of the NWOW culture.
• Coach product teams on NWOW principles.
• As product subject matter expert, coach and guide the frontline as it pertains to product knowledge, skills and insights to further empowerment aligned to NWOW principles.
• Development of talent in line with business strategy.
• Responsible for the integration of the enablers of the product value chain (incl. OSS, credit, operational risk etc.)

Interface into home services tribe:

• Based on requirements from home services tribe link and procure services for the teams to deliver what matters to customers and earn an economic return.

Governance:

• Adhere to laid down credit risk, operational risk and compliance risk methodologies in order to minimize operating losses.
• Plays an advocacy role and actively drives governance integration into product delivery.

Preferred Qualification and Experience

• 3-year B.Comm degree
• Post-graduate degree (Honours or Masters) is an advantage

Experience

• Relationship building
• Experience in building products within a financial services environment
• Experience in managing a balance sheet and income statement
