Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma in Engineering (Essential/Minimum)
• Relevant Artisan Trade accreditation with MQA/QCTO (Essential/Minimum)
• Certificate in First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
• B Tech in Engineering (Recommended/Desirable)
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a mining and equipment environment
• At least 2 years in a supervisory role, either in surface or underground mining
• Capability to manage routine and breakdown maintenance activities effectively
• Strong continuous improvement and innovation skills in maintenance processes
• Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholder relationships and support core business functions
• Compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental standards
• Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)
• Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum)(To be conducted by Exxaro)

Duties & Responsibilities

• Optimise maintenance resources to ensure equipment availability aligns with production targets.
• Lead and manage routine and breakdown maintenance activities, ensuring timely interventions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through research and process innovations.
• Liaise with other sections to enhance maintenance operations and technology management.
• Establish and manage stakeholder relationships to support core business functions and compliance with legislative requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation for maintenance activities and equipment performance.
• Adhere to and implement best practices, functional policies, and standards for maintenance processes.
• Promote a safe and healthy work environment by ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, and Environmental policies.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, manage staff performance, and oversee HR-related activities for the maintenance team.
• Ensure accountability and high standards of quality in maintenance work delivered.
