    Head- NFR: Ops, Payments & Emerging Tech

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Provide strategic leadership and implementation of the Group’s Non-Financial Risk management framework, processes and systems as a key enabler to achieving the Standard Bank Group’s strategic and business objectives for its group-wide operations, payments, data and related portfolio of emerging technologies and Big Tech relationships.
    • Be a trusted risk management partner that equips respective businesses and country teams within the stipulated portfolios across the group, with appropriate risk management tools to mitigate financial, reputational and regulatory impact of operational risk exposures. This will require the anticipation of external drivers coupled with impacts of current and planned products, new technologies, and processes which may introduce strategic changes on the risk profile of the group. Guide decision making on control enhancements required to manage and mitigate these risks within groupwide risk appetite requirements.
    • Provide Group-level oversight and view of the soundness of controls & risk status of the group’s operations, payments, data and portfolio of emerging technologies, drawing on input from Country business and non-financial risk partners.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A tertiary degree in Risk Management and/or Accounting, Commercial would be a minimum requirement for this role.
    • Post Graduate Degree in Risk Management, Finance/Accounting or Business Commerce
    • Preferred: Master's degree in risk management, Business Commerce, or Specialized Technology or Engineering would be preferred.

    Experience Required:

    • More than 15 years' work experience in Risk Management. The role requires a leader seasoned and expert in Risk Management with profound knowledge of the full dimensions of the field but specific focus on non-financial risks – particularly Technology, Cyber, Data, and Operations.
    • Regulatory environment savvy, a proven track record in large scale and high-level leadership and capable of influencing seasoned leaders as well as employees and regulators. As an influential leader has the capacity to manoeuvre through the landscape of relevant decision makers in industry and drive change.
