    Head of Application Management

    The Head of Application Management is responsible for the operation and support of all IMS applications. The role will ensure that the applications needed for running IMS services are appropriately managed in line with agreed service level agreements (SLA) with clients. You will report to the chief technology officer (CTO) and have a number of employees who directly report to you.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    • Ensuring applications and data are available and operating optimally.
    • Liaising with Product Managers to ensure systems delivery supports SLAs
    • Reviewing IMS’ service delivery to identify opportunities to improve services.
    • Monitoring and reporting regularly to key stakeholders’ IT performance relative to service commitments.
    • Ensuring areas which could potentially adversely affect the business are expediently highlighted
    • Proactively resolving system issues through adopting a flexible approach and creating innovative solutions which maintain an acceptable balance between risk, reward, and customer service while maintaining best practice.
    • Assisting with the delivery of internal and partner projects
    • Customer support and generation of operational and incident reports.
    • Designing and developing IT Service delivery processes and tools that are consistent with ITIL standards and enable service quality management and measurement at all levels
    • Testing Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity and Incident Response plans
    • Taking an active role in shaping our future IT environment

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • BSc. or advanced degree in Software engineering, computer science or related field
    • Experience in managing a 24X7 mission critical environment
    • 5+ years of experience in managing a complex technical infrastructure
    • 5+ years of experience in managing multi-discipline teams
    • Strong knowledge of Linux and programming in one or more of the following languages (NodeJS, Java, Clojure, Python or Ruby) and object-oriented programming.
    • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD technologies, e.g. Jenkins, GIT, containerization environments etc.
    • Solid understanding of payment industry and multi-channel commerce space
    • Experience, ideas and opinions about emerging trends such as “Internet of Things”
    • Technical hands on skills, ideally in multiple technology stacks for web development, REST/JSON APIs and Mobile application development on diverse platforms


    • ITIL certification preferred
    • Able to accept significant levels of responsibility and accountability
    • Able to develop and implement operational policies and procedures
    • Strong customer & delivery focus, meeting and exceeding customer expectations
    • Excellent analyzing and critical thinking
    • Strong analytical and organizational skills
    • Eye for detail and accuracy
    • The ability to work quickly, under pressure and to deadline
    • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, where the technology is constantly changing
    • Highly self-motivated and directed
