Head Of Department - Senior Lecturer/Adjunct Professor/ Associate Professor/Professor
Grade 12. MBChB degree. M. Med (Orthopaedics) and FC (Ortho) SA. A valid registration with the (HPCSA) as a Medical Specialist in Orthopaedics for 2026/2027.
A minimum of 3 years appropriate experience in Orthopaedics after registration with HPCSA as a Medical Specialist. Appropriate teaching and learning skills.
Demonstrable research skills. Research publication and a qualification in management and leadership will serve as an added advantage. Good managerial skills.
Duties :
Provide strategic leadership in the Orthopaedics department and input in the provincial and cluster matters relating to improving orthopaedics services in Gauteng Province.
Manage human and financial resources. Strengthen collaboration with other relevant multidisciplinary teams. Attend and participate in governance meetings for both the hospital and University of Pretoria. Manage and coordinate teaching and research in the department. Provide in-patient and out-patient services to the Orthopaedics department.
Organize and conduct clinical services in Orthopaedics department at KPTH. Be involved in outreach programmes within the cluster. Organize, monitor and report on research. Monitor and evaluate junior staff performance on a regular basis. Perform all administrative duties of the Department.
