Head of IT Applications at MPC Recruitment

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Applications Strategy & Roadmap: Lead the planning and integration of current and next-gen technologies, ensuring alignment with our client’s strategic objectives.
• Application Lifecycle Management: Oversee the application framework, keeping systems efficient, secure, and well-integrated.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with business leaders to ensure the technology strategy supports division goals, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
• Supplier & Contract Management: Source and manage technology vendors to keep our client at the cutting edge.
• Team Leadership: Inspire and mentor a diverse IT team, fostering a culture of growth, inclusivity, and performance.

What We’re Looking For:

Education:

• Degree-level IT qualification
• Certification in common IT management frameworks, such as ITIL, TOGAF or Zachman and project management frameworks
• Certification in Design Thinking or Innovation or Digital Transformation or Product Development related competencies
• Member of the Institute of Information Technology Professionals

Experience: 

• minimum of 8+ years in application development and support, mainframe systems experience, API integration, and best practice frameworks.

Competencies: 

• Strong technical knowledge (integration tech, coding, CRM systems), problem-solving, analytical skills, and excellent communication.

Behavioural Attributes: 

• sound leadership capability with a passion for customer-centric solutions, resilience, adaptability, and a forward-thinking approach to business performance optimization.

Desired tech specs:

• Proven experience in mainframe-based systems including AS400
• Proven experience in legacy systems and languages like Adabas Natural, DB2 database, Clarion, etc.
• Proven experience in working with API integration, webMethods, and .NET
• Experience in Data Warehousing (ETL) methodologies and database management
• An understanding of technical concepts such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and how they can be leveraged in transforming business models .
