JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Head of Operations is an exceptional leader who is strategic, result-driven, and uses business acumen to unlock, influence and execute growth opportunities for our business.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you lead, develop and oversee the entire store operations function and deliver on your key objectives which are to meet or exceed sales and profit targets and that your stores have engaged and enabled associates who provide our customers with a positive in-store experience.    

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Formulate, lead and measure the implementation of the Operations strategy for the business
• Deliver strategic sales growth and profitability through a sound understanding of various sales platforms & territories
• Influence Stock Management resulting in the right product, in the right store, in the right quantity and at the right time                      
• Overall management of the financial drivers & the mitigation of business risk  
• Collaborating with key stakeholders to create an unforgettable Customer Experience through all channels (Visual standards, Service standards, Climate)
• Display a keen understanding of location and customer profiles to influence store location strategy in collaboration with the Group Real Estate team
• Inspire, grow and lead your Operations (Area Managers, Visual Merchandise department, Admin and Merchandise Operations Management) team of passionate partners to deliver on key imperatives
• Research, review, report and move on key business insights
• Display and lead the values of the business                                                 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Grade 12 with relevant tertiary qualification preferably majoring in Retail, Commerce, Finance or similar field
• 7 years experience in a Senior Retail Store Operations leadership role  ( preferably leading the entire store operations function with experience leading an experienced team of  Area / Regional Managers)  
• Knowledge and understanding of the Retail Value Chain, insights and trends
• Strategic leadership and direction to a large team
• Commercial acumen
• Sound communication & negotiation skills to influence key business decisions.
