    Head of Remuneration and Benefits

    A leading mining services company is currently looking for a Head of Remuneration and Benefits to join their team in Johannesburg reporting to the Head of HR.
    The main function of the job will require you to develop and implement a remuneration and benefits strategy and action plans. This role requires someone who has led various remuneration and benefits interventions.
    Some of the main tasks would including the following:

    •        Assist with long term Human Resource Strategic plans
    •        Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Remuneration functions and ensure compliance
    •        Research, develop and review appropriate remuneration systems, processes and methodologies and adopt best practices
    •        Conduct Annual salary & Benefits surveys and trend analysis and make suitable remuneration recommendations
    •        Develop, maintain and update salary scales and models
    •        Oversee Annual Salary reviews process
    •        Provide advice to Managers in terms of remuneration and benefits packages
    •        Evaluate new positions and remuneration thereof
    •        Establish and chair the Job Evaluation Committee
    •        Develop and review all remuneration related policies
    •        Development and management of expatriates’ policies.


    The successful candidate will meet the following key selection criteria:

    •        Bachelor’s Degree in human resources management or related
    •        At least 8 years’ proven experience as a Remuneration and Benefits Specialist or Manager.
    •        Membership of SARA will be an advantage
    •        Sound knowledge of relevant Remuneration practices and Tax legislation
    •        Knowledge of payroll practices
    •        Knowledge of grading systems
