Hedge Fund Accountant at Prescient

Purpose of role:

• Prescient Fund Services is growing its Alternative Administration team in response to strong demand within the Hedge Fund market. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join a high-performing team of Fund Accountants and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
• As a Graduate Hedge Fund Accountant, you will be trained and supported to deliver high-quality accounting and administration services across a range of alternative investment products, including hedge funds and private equity structures. You will gain exposure to the full fund accounting lifecycle while working closely with experienced professionals. Daily pricing experience is essential. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in performing daily reconciliations (cash, trades, and positions) to support the calculation of fund Net Asset Values (NAVs).
• Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for a range of investment funds
• Contribute to the preparation of fund reporting, including investor and fund manager reports
• Assist with maintaining accurate fund records and financial data
• Work closely with team members to ensure the timely delivery of fund accounting services
• Learn and apply internal processes, systems, and controls to support efficient fund administration
• Support your team by contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and adapting to new systems or processes.

Required experience:

• Relevant experience of at least 2- 3 years in a financial services administration/fund accounting role with exposure to Hedge Funds is essential.
• Strong computer skills, specifically Excel, are essential.

Required Qualifications:

• Relevant postgraduate financial qualification (BCom Accounting / Commerce / Finance).
