    Country Head

    Purpose of role:

    • The Country Head of the South African fund services business holds a pivotal leadership role, responsible for overseeing all strategic, regulatory, and client-focused activities within South Africa. This position requires a deep understanding of the local and international funds industry, regulatory landscape, and the ability to lead teams towards achieving business objectives. The position requires a blend of strategic oversight, operational excellence, and client relationship management.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    Strategic Leadership:

    • As part of the strategic Exco team, develop and execute the business strategy for Prescient Fund Services South Africa, aligning with group objectives and responding to market trends.
    • Lead, mentor, and manage teams across various departments.
    • Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and performance management to ensure operational efficiency and growth.
    • Entrench company culture, including values and behaviour throughout the company.
    • Partner with Head of Talent to embed Prescient Employee Value Proposition (EVP) within the South African business.
    • Client Relationship Management and delivery: Build and nurture strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
    • In partnership with the Business Development lead, identify and pursue new business. opportunities, partnerships, and product offerings to expand the PFS footprint.
    • Represent the firm at industry forums, networking events, and with potential clients to enhance brand visibility.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to inform business strategy.
    • Lead the CRM / Client delivery / Client experience teams to ensuring delivery of a consistently high-quality, proactive, and differentiated client experience across Prescient Fund Services.
    • Acts as the senior client advocate within PFS, translating client needs and feedback into service improvements, clearer reporting, and stronger long‑term relationships, while partnering closely with Operations, Business Development, and Technology.

    Financial Performance:

    • Deliver on revenue and profitability targets. Monitor budgets, control costs, and identify opportunities for growth.
    • Prepare and manage the country’s budgets, forecasts, and financial performance metrics.
    • Monitor profitability, cost control, and resource allocation to achieve business targets.
    • Report on financial results and business performance to regional and global leadership.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Maintain strong relationships with shareholders and senior management across PFS and the broader Prescient Group:
    • Prepare and present reports on performance, strategic initiatives, and regulatory matters.
    • Engage with external partners such as custodians, brokers, and technology providers.
    • Advocate for the interests of the business and the wider funds industry in policy and regulatory discussions.
    • People Leadership: Lead, motivate, and develop the South African team.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the management team and staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Recruit, train, and manage staff, ensuring high levels of competency and engagement.
    • Set clear objectives and performance standards for team members.
    • Promote professional development and succession planning within the organisation.
    • Manage holistic remuneration of staff in consultation with all relevant stakeholder

    Required experience and experience: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field / CA(SA) / Similar.
    • Significant experience in fund administration or financial services, with proven leadership in an SA fund services / asset management context.
    • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
    • Demonstrated success in client management and business development.

    Business Development: Product Specialist

    Purpose of role:

    • Prescient Fund Services is the leading technology driven Fund Administration Service provider. To support the operational environment of PFS group by taking on new funds and clients, working with client requests, process improvement and better utilisation of technology to improve and grow the environment.

    Duties and responsibilities:

    Be part of the Business Development Product Team:

    • Act as conduit for all clients interacting and interfacing between operations and the clients.
    • Essential to have knowledge of full product range and service offering, to take responsibility for management of relationships with clients.
    • Align requirements, identify the core services and value-added services required, present alongside BD in the pitches, get ops agreement on any specific builds or break out and support the BD function in putting forward the best opportunities / proposals for PFS.
    • Efficient handover to Implementation acting as a critical part of the BD Product team in identifying Client required services and any additional requirements.
    • Ultimately responsible from supporting the broader BD initiative until assignment to the Implementation / CRM Manager.
    • Interaction function with other PFS departments in identifying, demonstrating / demo-ing, showcasing and winning new opportunities, including understanding what the core and value-added services required.
    • Maintain a detailed knowledge of the operational environment for the purposes of supporting the qualification and winning of opportunities as they pertain to core and value-added services.
    • To engage, assist and run with all new client take-ons, handing over to the Operational Implementation / CRM Teams by creating and maintaining core product principle-based checklists with assignment and handover.
    • Be responsible for any misinterpreted opportunities handed over into operations.
    • The Business Development Product: Specialist is a Subject Matter Expert in Prescient Fund Services Group products and services.
    • To develop, work on and roll out the project list as directed by the strategic initiatives as directed.
    • Relationship building internally, able to positively influence all relevant stakeholders.
    • To be responsible for all new prospect and client discussions, to align, to document and to agree to hand over into the operational environment.
    • Relationship building, have positive relationships with all internal parties, including spreading of positive influence in dealing with the stakeholders.
    • Have regular catch ups with the key staff in sharing focus and client strategy.
    • On at least a weekly basis communicate into operations using Salesforce and email communication protocols of worked on opportunities.
    • Strong technical Fund Accounting / Investment operations experience where you have gained solid product experience and knowledge of a range of funds including CIS, Segregated funds, ETFs, Hedge funds. Min. 4 years relevant experience required.
    • Project management experienced gained in Fund Services environment.
    • Experience in engaging with clients.
    • Suited to someone used to working in small, high-performance teams and dealing with multiple issues at once, to a prioritisation queue.

    Required qualifications:

    • Relevant Degree / Honours Degree (Investments, Finance, Commerce) required.

    Hedge Fund Accountant

    Purpose of role:

    • Prescient Fund Services is growing its Alternative Administration team in response to strong demand within the Hedge Fund market. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to join a high-performing team of Fund Accountants and gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
    • As a Graduate Hedge Fund Accountant, you will be trained and supported to deliver high-quality accounting and administration services across a range of alternative investment products, including hedge funds and private equity structures. You will gain exposure to the full fund accounting lifecycle while working closely with experienced professionals. Daily pricing experience is essential. 

    Duties and responsibilities:

    • Assist in performing daily reconciliations (cash, trades, and positions) to support the calculation of fund Net Asset Values (NAVs).
    • Preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV calculations for a range of investment funds
    • Contribute to the preparation of fund reporting, including investor and fund manager reports
    • Assist with maintaining accurate fund records and financial data

    Desktop Support Technician

    Purpose of role:

    • The IT Desktop Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining Prescient’s end-user computing environment, including computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. The role involves installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software to ensure optimal workstation performance. The technician provides both remote and hands-on deskside support, taking ownership of end-user issues to ensure timely resolution and maintain overall IT service stability.

    Duties and responsibilities:
    Desktop Support Technician – Key Responsibilities 

    • Provide second line and deskside support to end-users by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues both remotely and on-site. 
    • Install, configure, test, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral devices (e.g. monitors, printers, scanners). 
    • Diagnose and support operating systems including Microsoft Windows and Apple macOS, ensuring optimal performance and stability. 
    • Resolve issues related to printers, copiers, scanners, and other end-user equipment. 
    • Support and maintain VoIP telephony, biometric, video conferencing systems, and related technologies. 

     Service Delivery & Incident Management 

    • Take full ownership of incidents and service requests from logging through to resolution, ensuring timely updates and service restoration. 
    • Deliver responsive, hands-on deskside support aligned to business expectations for rapid issue resolution. 
    • Accurately log, categorise, prioritise, and update all tickets in the IT Service Management (ITSM) system. 
    • Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), customer satisfaction targets, and continuous service improvement initiatives. 
    • Escalate complex issues to relevant support teams while maintaining accountability and communication with stakeholders. 

     Asset & Environment Management 

    • Manage the lifecycle of IT assets, including provisioning, tagging, tracking, maintenance, and decommissioning. 
    • Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and upgrades of IT equipment and systems. 
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment, incidents, and resolutions in line with operational and audit requirements. 

     User Support & Training 

    • Provide guidance and training to end-users on systems, applications, and IT best practices. 
    • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users across all levels of the organisation. 

     Documentation & Continuous Improvement 

    • Create, maintain, and publish support documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. 
    • Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes, service delivery, and user experience. 

     Collaboration 

    • Work closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, and other IT teams to ensure a stable and efficient desktop computing environment. 
    • Provide input and recommendations on hardware/software procurement and upgrades. 

    Required experience:

    • 3–5 years’ experience in Desktop Support or Technical Support roles within a corporate environment. 
    • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems. 
    • Good working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite, including Outlook, Teams, and Office applications. 
    • Experience using remote support and endpoint management tools. 
    • Solid understanding of IT standards, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and industry best practices. 

    Required Qualifications:

    • Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification. 
    • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, N+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) are advantageous. 
    • Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent cloud certification is advantageous. 
    • Basic understanding or exposure to AI tools and technologies (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, automation tools) to support productivity, troubleshooting, and service delivery. 

    Key competencies:

    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively. 
    • Excellent customer service orientation with clear and professional communication skills.
