Responsibilities:

• Publish accurate, high-quality content on the homepage, making decisions based on news values, relevance, and audience needs.
• Package and enrich content in ways that captivate and engage the audience.
• Analyze and monitor website traffic and optimize homepage content accordingly.
• Take control by managing priorities efficiently, effectively communicating with stakeholders, and collaborating across teams.
• Oversee and guide journalists on weekend shifts.
• Write, edit, translate, and compile stories from various platforms as needed.
• Send timely push notifications to keep the audience updated on important content.

Qualifications:

• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a newsroom, with exposure to digital media.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A knack for digital storytelling techniques.
• Understanding of digital trends, SEO, and web analytics.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
