Qualifications and experience:

• Extensive Experience: Minimum 7-10 years as a specialist journalist with significant editing and team management experience.
• Educational Foundation: Relevant tertiary qualification in journalism, economics, finance, or related field.
• Digital Expertise: Proven experience in digital-first business news environments.
• Leadership Record: Experience in managing editorial teams, developing talent, and driving organizational growth.

Responsibilities, in both print products and on digital platforms, include:

• The effective and complete writing and curation of promotional, advertising and marketing material, as well as special projects.
• Conceptualisation and execution of promotional, advertising and marketing projects that will benefit branding, newspaper sales, and digital subscriber recruitment.
• Liaising with clients and marketers in a promotional, advertising and marketing environment.
• Quality client service to ensure a quality product.
• The writing of factually correct and creative promotional and advertising copy and newsworthy focus articles in Afrikaans.

• The person must also be fluent in Afrikaans and English and be able to write in both languages.
• Experience working on digital publishing platforms is essential.
