    Hospital Manager: Daxina Private Hospital (within the Ahmed Kathrada & Daxina Private Hospital Complex)

    Role Summary:

    • An exceptional leadership opportunity exists for a dynamic, commercially astute, and strategically driven executive to lead Daxina Private Hospital. The successful incumbent will report to the Hospital CEO of Ahmed Kathrada & Daxina Private Hospitals and will be responsible for the overall strategic, operational, financial, and clinical performance of the hospitals.

    Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)
    The successful candidate will perform, inter alia, the following key performance areas:

    Key Performance Areas Strategy Execution

    • Define and execute the hospital’s strategy, aligned to Group vision and regional healthcare priorities.
    • Drive operational excellence and embed a high-performance culture through stakeholder alignment.
    • Integrate clinical, operational, and commercial functions across teams and organisational layers for Lenmed Daxina Hospital Primarily and added related functions for Ahmed Kathrada Private hospital as delegated by the Hospital CEO.
    • Ensure strategic objectives translate into measurable operational outcomes.

    Strategic Input, Innovation and Enablement

    • Translate Group vision into clear strategic objectives for Daxina Private Hospital
    • Identify growth opportunities including new services, partnerships, and market expansion.
    • Provide strategic input into Group initiatives and capital allocation decisions.
    • Display strong understanding of key risks and opportunities impacting business sustainability.
    • Develop and enhance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent operational execution.

    Financial Management and Commercial Performance

    • Assume full accountability for hospital P&L performance.
    • Drive revenue growth, cost containment, and margin optimisation.
    • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial controls.
    • Monitor key financial metrics including EBITDA, revenue mix, overheads, working capital, activity metrics, and Return on Invested Capital (ROIC).
    • Ensure robust procurement and supply chain oversight to drive efficiencies.
    • Data driven analytical focus to key decisions and strategic direction.

    Clinical Governance and Quality Management

    • Champion clinical excellence and patient safety.
    • Ensure effective implementation of clinical governance frameworks.
    • Oversee hospital committees including Quality, Ethics, Infection Control and Risk.
    • Monitor and review clinical indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Maintain and expand accreditation standards and ensure alignment with industry best practice.
    • Compliance to internal and external quality audit requirements including those critical to licensing authorities in country.

    Internal and External Stakeholder Engagement

    • Build strong relationships with doctors, specialists, and healthcare professionals.
    • Maintain effective engagement with regulators, funders, and industry bodies with the objective to align and deliver value to all stakeholders.
    • Represent the hospitals at relevant internal and external forums.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with Group leadership and hospital management teams.
    • Promote the hospital brand within the community and healthcare sector.

    Regulatory, Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and licensing requirements.
    • Implement risk management, governance, and compliance policies.
    • Oversee internal and external audit processes.
    • Proactively identify operational, clinical, financial, and reputational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
    • Corporate Governance compliance and accountability to Lenmed Group Leadership.

    Resourcing, Talent Management and Leadership

    • Lead by example in driving organisational values and culture.
    • Take full responsibility for performance management of direct reports.
    • Oversee recruitment, development, succession planning, and transformation/localisation initiatives.
    • Define performance contracts and monitor achievement of agreed objectives.
    • Build leadership capability within the hospital management team.
    • Employee retention is a critical focus.
    • Employee wellness focus towards an employer of choice strategy in country.

    Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)
    Minimum Required Education

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
    • Postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) will be advantageous.

    Inherent Requirements

    • Minimum 2-5 years’ senior management experience within the private healthcare sector.
    • Demonstrates strong business, commercial and financial acumen.
    • Proven track record in managing complex healthcare operations.
    • Strong understanding of clinical governance, regulatory frameworks, and healthcare compliance.
    • Experience working within a listed or group healthcare environment advantageous.
    • Knowledge of hospital information systems and ERP platforms advantageous.
    • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management capability.
