Hospital Unit Manager - Registered Nurse (RN) - Trauma/Emergency Centre
Our client, a leader in the private healthcare industry, is urgently looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) / Professional Nurse (PN) to work as a Hospital Unit Manager in Trauma / Emergency. This is an opportunity to work a 3 month contract at a private hospital in Cape Town.
Working hours will be Mon to Friday from 06:30 to 15:30 approximately.
Requirements
Registered with SANC as a Professional Nurse
A qualification in Emergency Nursing is required
A qualification in Nursing management will be advantageous
A minimum of 5 years experience as a Professional Nurse within a Trauma/Emergency unit
A minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership role within a hospital
Clinical risk management knowledge and experience
Knowledge and understanding of nursing functions and relevant nursing legislation
Patient complaints management skills
Prior knowledge of human resources processes, including employee relations and financial management.
Experience in managing staff productivity and continuous improvement methodologies
Upholds high ethical, confidentiality and professional standards
Preferably own transport
Key Outputs
Ensure safe patient care by meeting set clinical quality standards according to company policies and procedures
Manage and mitigate clinical risks in the unit
Lead and manage the staff in the unit
Manage the unit's operational and capital expenses according to financial and budget guidelines and ensure optimal utilisation of resources
Manage and actively contribute to a positive patient experience in the hospital
Support the achievement of interdepartmental outcomes
