    HTS Project Coordinator

    Purpose of the position:

    To lead, manage and coordinate implementation of dynamic community outreach teams that provide direct service delivery support in communities in collaboration with facility-based teams. The HTS Project Coordinator will support and monitor HIV and TB clinical cascades focusing largely on the first 95 to ensure integrated TB and HIV screening, diagnosis, linkage to care and continuity of care to strengthen the health system.

    The incumbent will need to be conversant with RTCQI and funder (CDC) priorities and alignment with the National Department of Health in order to balance priorities.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in B. Cur or equivalent degree/diploma plus postgraduate or equivalent qualification.
    • Experience in project management and work plans for direct submission to funder.
    • Experience in QI implementation and formal clinical facilitation will be advantageous.
    • Demonstrate ability to interpret and utilise complex programmatic data.
    • HIV and TB clinical management
    • HTS guidelines
    • Minimum 3 – 5 years project/programme coordination level experience in a relevant programme area/field (preferably in the NGO sector).
    • Management and Leadership skills.
    • Valid registration with SANC or HPCSA.
    • Valid Code 08 Drivers Licence.
    • Fluency in Xhosa is crucial.
    • Freedom and ability to travel when necessary.
    • Clear criminal record.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support
    • Advocate for integrated TB and HIV screening, diagnosis and treatment
    • Develop and adopt approaches for targeted and novel screening for HIV, TB and STI amongst high-risk populations in facility, community, and other settings, inclusive of appropriate high-impact testing modalities (TUTT, HIV index testing, HIV self-screening and social network strategy).
    • Stakeholder engagement and community capacity building
    • Capacity building
    • Review timesheets and activities of the team and provide adequate feedback
    • Submit periodic reports as determined by the Programme Director
    • Assist with mentorship and supportive supervision of all direct subordinates and indirect staff of collaborating organisations.
    • Participate in hospital, district, and PHC meetings; support multi-disciplinary team approach to managing clients.
