Main Focus Areas

• The successful candidate is expected to undertake undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, contribute to the development and review of the undergraduate and postgraduate programme teaching and curricula and, where necessary, become involved in community engagement activities, in line with College specific objectives. The individual will report directly to the College Principal

Key Performance Areas: (include but are not limited to)

• Teach, supervise, and assess students, prepare study material in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.​
• Competence in communicating knowledge and facilitating teaching and learning in a lecture, seminar, tutorial and/or practical or laboratory environment and in assessment practices (including online assessment practices) coupled with a potential to undertake research.​
• Be available for contact sessions with students.​
• Clinical accompaniment of students in the clinical practice environment.​
• Improve and increase personal knowledge of nursing through research.​
• Share in the administration and management of programmes and College.​
• Invigilate during College examinations and assessments.​
• Participate in official gatherings of the College and committees to which the incumbent has been nominated.​
• Participate in official meetings of the College.​
• Participate in College – linked community development projects.​
• Do anything reasonably requested by the College Principal.​

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

• Must be registered with the SANC as a professional nurse and midwife.​
• Must be registered with the SANC as a nurse educator, assessor and moderator.​
• A degree in nursing at NQF level 7 a prerequisite. ​
• A post-basic qualification in Adult Intensive Care Nursing essential. ​
• 5 Years teaching experience in Higher Education/Tertiary Level.​
• A master’s degree would be an added advantage
