Job Purpose    

• Once the Controllers have pre-registered the files,your role will be to fulfil the clerance process.  Ensure proactiveness, very high levels of communication, building a trusting relationship and adding value consistently to all key working relationship parties. Understand and facilitate the clearance requirements in ensuring OTIFNE (On time, in full no errors) for each Import shipment. Understanding shipping from cargo collection at origin up until final delivery to client, including local customs formalities. 

Qualifications & Experience    
QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Matric                                
• Relevant tertiary qualification essential        

EXPERIANCE: 

• 3-5 previous experience in Import Clearing environment (ocean) with a good working knowledge of all aspects of Seafreight Imports, including the Customs and related EDI processes.                              
• An excellent track record of effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities    
KEY RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Ability to handle the full ocean import process.                                
• Upon tasking of shipments check to ensure all necessary documents are received correctly to effect Customs Clearance                                
• Close liaison and correspondence with internal and external key working relationship parties.     
• Regular monitoring of the status of import shipments ( BIL tools) to ensure that there are no delays in the import clearance process.
• Be proactive and alert all necessary parties of challenges. Where delays occur, ensure the necessary action is undertaken to resolve with applicable department or parties concerned and the reasons for the delays are noted on BIL operating system.                                 
• To back up the Senior, Client Controllers and Assistant Controllers as required.                
• Ensure all financial queries and other import related queries are actioned as per KPI's.             
• Ensure import and KPI's process are followed to limit BIL risk and impact to reputation.        
• Working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure file management.                
• Handling and following up on queries and disputes until resolved.             
• Zero tolerance on write off's                                
• Log all incident reports using SmartSure tool.
