Procurement of indirect goods and services

• Collation and identification of spend – including capex spend for the facility
• Investigate and evaluate potential and existing suppliers in the market and maintain an updated database – done in conjunction with Indirect Purchasing manager
• SOP’s drawn up and maintained for all activities conducted within this portfolio
• Adherence to policies related to procurement and related functions
• Conduct due diligence on suppliers
• Categorizing suppliers (understanding which are the important suppliers for the business)
• Understanding inbound process by ensuring all processes are followed
• Processing of requests from different departments and sourcing quotes thereof
• Ensuring that the right product at the right time and place - right model mix and configuration
• Ensure Invoices payments
• Adhere to safe working environment (as prescribed in the safety policy and procedures)
• Adherence to any reasonable instruction
• Responses evaluated and recommendations given to requesters in different departments

Order placement

• Purchase orders are raised with sufficient detail to enable spend to be evaluated
• New vendor detail to be obtained and vendors opened on ERP system where necessary
• Orders are followed up and expedited
• Quality, price and service monitored against agreements

Capex management

• Assist with Inquiries where needed
• Monitor spend against capex allocated
• Ensure deliverables are met and if not challenge supplier with Ind PM
• Ensure relevant contracts/documentation is in place

BEE target

• Inquiries to cover BEE requirements
• BEE suppliers to be sourced where possible
• BEE data to be collected from suppliers

Cost reduction

• Assist target achievement by identifying cost reduction targets
• Work with facility and Ind PM to run projects identified

Requirements

• Relevant Tertiary Diploma/Degree in Purchasing or Logistics / Solid experience
• 2 - 3 years’ experience in the similar field
• Computer literacy essential.  Experience with Oracle preferable
