Infection Control Officer at Lenmed Private Hospitals

Main Focus Areas

• To ensure the delivering of quality nursing care in a safe environment by supporting and educating personnel and management in the prevention, identification, and control of infection. Patients, staff, and the environment should be managed through the implementation of an effective and efficient infection control management plan/program.
• To provide orientation to new staff.
• To provide ongoing training and development regarding policies, principles, and procedures.
• To assist and work in close collaboration with the Quality Manager regarding occupational health and safety matters (WCA).
• To contribute actively to teamwork and ensure efficiency of the team on a continuous basis.
• To develop, implement, and evaluate quality improvement programs in infection control on a a continuous basis
• To develop hospital infection control strategies and develop skills in: infectious disease management, clinical and environmental microbiology, epidemiology and statistics.

Post Requirements: (include but are not limited to)

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
• Relevant training/certification in infection prevention and control, will be an advantage.
• Relevant experience in occupational health and safety, will be an advantage.
• Strong clinical knowledge in a private hospital setting.
• Leadership skills and abilities.
• Good troubleshooting skills and able to utilize initiative.
• Intermediate computer literacy
