Information Technology (IT) Specialist at Trade & Investment KwaZulu-Natal

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (Among others) 

• Responsible for the design, management, maintenance, performance and continuous improvement of TIKZN's website, intranet and other web-based platforms. 
• Implement search engine optimisation strategies, monitor website performance and conduct web usage analysis to improve visibility, accessibility and user experience. 
• Monitor, maintain and provide technical support for TIKZN's IT infrastructure, networks, servers, hardware, software and connectivity to ensure availability, reliability and optimal performance. 
• Develop, implement and maintain TIKZN's document management system and information repository systems, including user access and integration with other organisational systems. 
• Provide IT technical and end-user support, including troubleshooting hardware, software, network, connectivity, user access and other systems-related issues. 
• Administer and support TIKZN's business applications and IT-related systems, including CRM and other enterprise systems, and support system integrations, upgrades and technology improvements. 
• Implement and maintain information and cybersecurity controls, backup and disaster recovery procedures, user access controls and other measures required to safeguard TIKZN's systems, information and business continuity 

JOB SPECIFICATION 

Educational and /or Technical Competencies: 

• A bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Information Technology or relevant IT qualification is essential. 
• A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage. 
• Valid Driver’s License 
• ITIL certificate will be beneficial. 
• Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certification will be beneficial. 
• Microsoft Azure Administrator certification will be beneficial. 
• Microsoft 0365 certification will be beneficial. 
• System development certification will be beneficial. 

Experience:

• Three (3) years’ experience in web-based system management is a prerequisite. 
• Plus, three (3) years’ experience providing IT technical support will be added advantage. 

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES 

• Must have knowledge of IT infrastructure, network and server administration. 
• Must have knowledge of intranet and portal management. 
• Must have knowledge of website design, development and maintenance. 
• Must have knowledge of Search Engine Optimisation techniques and web analytics. 
• Must have knowledge of IT technical support and troubleshooting. 
• Must have knowledge of business systems and applications, including CRM and document management systems. 
• Must have knowledge of information and cybersecurity principles, backup and disaster recovery procedures. 
• Must have knowledge of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). 
• Ability to analyse and resolve technical problems effectively. 
• Ability to keep abreast of technological developments and recommend appropriate solutions. 
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. 
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence at all levels. 
• Good analytical and reasoning skills. 
• High level of confidentiality, integrity and attention to detail. 
• Knowledge of risk management concepts, frameworks and methodology. 
• Knowledge of applying models, tools and methods. 
• Knowledge of designing modular architecture. 
• Knowledge of applying Lean startup, Agile and DevOps methods. 
• Knowledge of ICT governance, COBiT standards, ISO standards.
